Greed vs. Fear: Making Sense of the Market Crash

This past month witnessed wild market swings on news of political gridlock, sovereign debt and economic uncertainty in Europe and the United States—affecting markets around the world and wiping out trillions of dollars in value. Japan Society Chairman Wilbur Ross, CEO of WL Ross & Company, discusses August’s market crash with Benn Steil of the Council on Foreign Relations. Mr. Ross will explain how businesspeople can better make sense of the basic drivers of the market—greed and fear—as well as possible longer-term buying opportunities, including in China, Ireland and Japan.
