Admittedly I have not really followed this very famous Japanese contemporary photographer until I learned he would be coming to the Japan Society tonight.

Moriyama is considered a pathbreaker in Japanese avant garde photography; using grainy black and white prints to portray the ethos of Tokyo’s back streets and delving into Tokyo life through portraits of the man on the street. He also spends time doing similar street photography in other major cities, especially New York and includes William Klein as a major influence.
My take away after his talk: Time to find a gallery for my work.
