This is a raging debate here in NYC, which includes victims, NYCLU and the Mayor. Now the folks in San Franscisco are getting into a debate of their own.
I watched the police stop this guy on the Upper East Side subway station while they cuffed him to check his belongings.
They soon let him go.
I quickly got close enough to notice a Hispanic name on one police officer’s badge and that the other one was a lighter skined black man compared to the boy they stopped. I thought — Stop-and-Frisk is supposed to know no color nor ethnicity and yet…it knows.
Next to all this activity was a bi-racial couple with two very young kids getting ready to go to the pool.
I get reminded everyday that I have returned to and live in NYC.
